A short article showing you how to void entire orders or individual items on a saved order.
There a number of reasons why an item or order will need to be cancelled. Regardless of the reason, it's important to know how you can reverse a decision on the POS.
There are a number of places you can void items and orders on the POS. This article will detail each of them.
Void From the Checkout Screen
From the checkout screen, you are able to void entire orders or individual items. On the checkout screen, you will see the Void button in the bottom right corner.
If you do not see this option, refer to out article on Editing your Checkout Layout Screen.
Once tapped, you will be given the option to void the entire order, or select specific items from the order to be removed.
Tap on the check box to the left of the item to select (or de-select) it, then adjust the number to indicate how many servings of the item should be voided. Press the red Void button to confirm your choices.
Depending on your settings, you may be prompted to enter a reason for voiding. Once entered, you get a confirmation box listing which items have been removed from the order.
This method works well if there are multiple items (or an entire order) that need to be removed from your order.
If you only have a single item that needs to be removed, you can tap on the item while on the checkout screen, and void it specifically.
Note: If there are multiple servings of the selected item (like in the example above), you will need to enter the quantity you wish to void. This allows you to remove only a partial amount of that item from your order.
Void From Order Settings
This next option only applies for voiding an entire order. From the order editing screen, you can tap on the order id/table name/tab name to access your order's settings page. One of your options will be to void the order.
Void Saved Items
You can void an item after it has been added and saved to your order, without going to the checkout screen.
From the order editing page, simply tap on the item (as if you were going to change the item's modifier.
Tap on the red Void Item button beneath the section where you can enter notes for your item.
