Lavu POS with Verifone

This article will take you through the process for using the Verifone e285 reader with your Lavu POS.

Lavu POS Integration with Verifone

Lavu POS is newly equipped with the latest payment gateway partnering with Verifone.

If you have chosen to partner with Lavu and this new gateway, the Lavu Onboarding team will ensure your company account is integrated and configured for this setup.

Below is an example of an account after enabling the Verifone payment gateway.

Connect the Verifone Card Reader to your POS

Once the reader is connected to your network, you can pair the Verifone reader with a POS iPad in two ways.

  • Scan for Terminal
  1. Using the IP address

  • Scan Terminals

Log into the Lavu POS app, and tap the menu button in the bottom left corner.

Tap on Settings, then tap on Card Reader Settings

Tap on Scan Terminals.

The POS will then start to scan your local network for any Verifone readers. This process can take several minutes to complete.

After completing the scan, the POS will display any available readers. Select the reader you want to connect to in order to complete the pairing process.

  • Using the IP Address

A faster method to connect to your Verifone reader is through its IP address. Before that, you should learn the IP address of the card reader. There are two ways to get the Verifone card reader’s IP address.

  1. Turn the reader off and back on, and read the IP address during the bootup process.
  2. Find the IP address under network settings.

Follow the below steps to identify the IP address from the Verifone card reader.

Press the numbers 1, 5 & 9 together on the Verifone card reader to open the settings screen.

Once the settings screen gets open, tap on “Com Control.”

After that, you will arrive on the Communication Panel screen. Tap on WiFi.

After that, tap on Status and find the IP address. Note down the IP address to enter on the POS while pairing.

Back on the POS, tap the menu button in the bottom left corner.

Tap on Settings, then tap on Card Reader Settings

The credit card reader window will open. Tap on Enter Terminal IP Address.

Enter the IP Address you got from the previous steps, and click on the green button to continue.

The POS will then display a 4-digit Terminal Passcode. Enter this passcode on the Verifone card reader.

This will complete the pairing process with the iPad.

Note: If you want, you can unpair the iPad from the card reader by selecting Unassign from Card Reader Settings. This can be used to troubleshoot if the card reader is not reading the cards properly.
