Section 1.1: Create / Edit Menu Groups, Menu Categories, and Menu Items

 

The Menu Tab is the essential section that defines how your menu appears in the Lavu POS App. This section walks you through the following:
  • Create / Edit Menu Groups
  • Create / Edit Menu Categories
  • Create / Edit Menu Items
CREATE AND EDIT MENU GROUPS:

1. From the homepage of the Admin Control Panel, click Menu

2. Select Add / Edit Menu Groups from the Menu Group drop-down menu

3. To create a Menu Group, type a name into the text field labeled Add New Group and press enter / return
4. To adjust the order of existing Menu Groups click the up or down arrow icons to the left of a Menu Group name

5. To rename a Menu Group click rename, enter a new name, and click Update

6. To delete a Menu Group, click Delete, then confirm the action in the pop-up window

 CREATE AND EDIT MENU CATEGORIES:

1. Select the Menu Group you want to add a Menu Category from the Menu Group drop-down menu

2. Click Add Category

3. Enter a Category Name

4. Select an Optional Modifier that apply to all Menu Items within the Menu Category

5. Select a Forced Modifier or Modifier Group that apply to all Menu Items within the Menu Category

6. Select the Printer / KDS that the Menu Items within the Menu Category will print out

7. Click the small box icon to add a picture that will represent the Menu Category on the Frontend

7A. Within the pop-up window, select a previously uploaded picture (photo or image) from the drop-down.

If a new picture (photo or image) needs to be uploaded, follow the steps below:

  • Click Browse,
  • Locate and select the picture on the computer and
  • Click Open.
  • Once the picture has uploaded, click Apply.

8. Click Category Details to edit / change the Menu Category details

9. Click the Copy / Move icon to copy or move the Menu Category to another Menu Group.

The Action drop-down menu provides two options: Move andCopy.
9A. The Move option moves an entire Menu Category from its current Menu Group to a selected Menu Group. Moved Menu Categories do not remain in the original Menu Group.

9B.) The Copy option provides two additional options: Copy, Change Name and Copy, Same Name.
When Copy, Change Name is selected, additional text may be placed at the end of the Menu Category's current name in the text box. See FIGURE 17.
For example, if the name of the Menu Category name is “C/C Dogs” and “Change” is entered in the text box, the name of the new Menu Category will be “C/C Dogs Change”.
All other settings are retained for the copied Menu Category.

When Copy, Change Name is selected, a new Menu Category is created and appears in the selected Menu Group with the changed name.

When Copy, Same Name is selected, a new Menu Category is created and appears in the selected Menu Group with the same name as the copied Menu Category.

The Copy action does not remove the original Menu Category. The Menu Category's setting and contents (Menu Items and their settings) are retained.

 

10. To delete a Menu Category click the “X” in the top right corner of the category box

10A. To recover a deleted Menu Category BEFORE clicking Save, click the green circle.

NOTE: If the Save Button has been clicked, the Menu Category is unrecoverable

11. Once all Menu Categories are created or edited, click Save at the top or bottom of the Menu page

CREATE AND EDIT MENU ITEMS:

1. Locate the Menu Category that you want to add new Menu Items

2. Click Add Item

3. Name the Menu Item

4. Enter a price for the Menu Item

5. Select an Optional Modifier that applies to the Menu Item

6. Select a Forced Modifier or Modifier Group that applies to the Menu Item

7. Enter any ingredients for the Menu Item (Learn more about Inventory Setup)

8. Click the small box icon to add a picture that will represent the Menu Category on the Frontend.

8A. Within the pop-up window select a previously uploaded picture from the drop-down menu.

If a new picture needs to be uploaded, follow the steps below:

  • Click Browse
  • Locate and select the picture on the computer
  • Click Open
  • Once the picture has been uploaded, click Apply.

9. Click the Details button to edit/change the Menu Item Details.

 10. Click the Copy / Move icon to copy or move the Menu Item to another Menu Group.

10A. Click the Copy / Move icon, located between “Details” and “X”.

10B. The Action drop-down menu provides two options: Move and Copy.

Selecting Move will move a Menu Item from its current Menu Category to a selected Menu Category within a selected Menu Group. Moved Menu Items do not remain in the original Menu Category.

Selecting the Copy selection provides two additional options: Copy, Change Nameand Copy, Same Name.

When Copy, Change Name is selected, additional text may be placed at the end of the Menu Items current name in the text box.

Next, select the Menu Group and Menu Category for the Menu Item to be copied to.

For example, if the Menu Item name is “Mini C/C Dogs Change” and “Item” is entered in the text box, the new Menu Item name will be “C/C Dogs Change Item”. All other Menu Item settings are retained for the copied Menu Item.

11. To delete a Menu Item click the “X”

11A. To recover a deleted Menu Item BEFORE clicking Save, click the green circle. If the Save Button has been clicked, the Menu Item is unrecoverable

11. Once all Menu Items are created and/or edited click Save at the top or bottom of the MENU page
