Section 6.1: Edit Users
- Mark a user as Active or Inactive
- Create usernames and passwords
- Set the user Access Level
- Set user specific Service Types
- Set Pay Rate
- Contact Information
- Restrict access to the Control Panel (for access level 3 users)
Log in to the Control Panel at cp.poslavu.com and navigate to Workforce > Manage Users.
ADD A NEW USER
1. Click Add new user.
As you enter the user data for the new user, you can expand and contract each section.
Expand the User Information section to enter the user's First name, Last name, Username, and Email address. The Username must be UNIQUE within the Lavu POS system, not just your location.
NOTE: Asterisks (*) indicate required information.
PIN & PASSWORD
Expand the Pin & password section to enter/assign the user's PIN, New password, and Confirm New password.
This PIN will need to be unique to the location (i.e. no two users can have the same PIN). This number is how the system will track user’s actions (i.e. server sales, cashier sales, and order information).
PAY RATE & ROLES
Expand the Pay rate & roles section to enter the user's pay rate and role.
You can choose to enter just a pay rate, but Lavu recommends that you assign pay rates and classes. To learn more about classes see the knowledge base article Employee Classes. The pay rates you assign here are used by the App to calculate labor charges.
Expand the Manage access section to enter the user's Access Level. Please see the knowledge base article Lavu Access Levels to learn more.
Active - When Active the user will have access to the Lavu POS system according to his/her access level.
Inactive - When Inactive the user will have NO access to Lavu POS (App or Control Panel).
RESTRICTING ACCESS TO THE CONTROL PANEL
In some cases, a user may be granted access level 3, but you, as the owner, may want to restrict that user's access to the control panel. For instance, you may want your chef to have access to the Menus, but not the Workforce page of the control panel. You can restrict that user's access in this section.
Here are some suggested settings for that situation.
The chef can now change the menu, check inventory, and see the reports on the home page of the Control Panel. But he can't change his pay rate.
Expand the Contact Information section to enter the user's phone number(s) and Home address.
Expand the Advanced section to set Location, Language package, and Ordering settings for this new user.
The Location setting is for restaurants with multiple locations. Learn how to configure chains here.
The chosen Language package will determine the language displayed on the Lavu POS that this user logs into.
The Default user order type will also affect the Lavu POS device this user logs into. The drop-down list provides the options; Location Default, Quick Serve, Tables, and Tabs. To learn more about service types see Tabs, Tables and Quick Serve, which is the best for me?
The Room/Floor user works can be used to set the area of the business this user works in, if multiple areas have been set up in Restaurant Layout.
Click SAVE when all information for the new user has been entered.
