uDynamo

The uDynamo is supported by multiple Gateways compatible with POS Lavu.

This document will review methods of ensuring that the uDynamo is communicating correctly with the POS Lavu application.

If the POS Lavu application is communicating with the swiper, but issues persist, please contact Magtek support at (651) 415-6800 or support@magtek.com, your Gateway Support Line, or the company you purchased the swiper from.

Note: New clients to Mercury and utilizing POS Lavu will not be able to use the uDynamo. Please refer to the Infinea Tab 2 and 4 or Linea Pro 4 and 5.

Checking Proper Communication Between the uDynamo and POS Lavu App:

** Ensure the uDynamo is fully charged before attempting to use **

** Ensure the uDynamo is selected in CC Integration in the Lavu Control Panel **

** Ensure the POS Lavu App is authorized to access the headphone jack **

** iPad / iPod Settings > Privacy > Microphone **

** Ensure the volume on the iPad / iPod is turned all the way up **

 

1. Launch the POS Lavu App.

2. Create an Order.

3. Take the Order to Checkout.

4. Plug the uDynamo into the headphone jack.

** The credit card icon located near the top right corner of the screen should turn from grey to green. If it does not, continue the steps below.

5. From the Checkout screen, tap Order (top right corner of the screen). Once on the order screen DO NOT change anything on the order, tap Checkout.

** The credit card icon located near the top right corner of the screen should turn from grey to green. If it does not, continue the steps below.

6. Unplug the swiper from the iPod / iPad.

7. Return to the Default View (Tables, Tabs, or Quickserve) in the POS Lavu App.

8. Tap the Lavu icon in the top left corner of the screen.

9. Tap “Exit Location”.

10. Tap “Yes”.

11. Tap “Exit”.

12. Once at the log-in screen of the POS Lavu App, press the iPod / iPad Home Button (the only physical button on the front face of the iPod / iPad) once. You should be at your iPod’s / iPad’s home screen.

13. Double tap the iPod / iPad Home Button (similar to double clicking a computer mouse).

14. Please read this entire step prior to performing the action: Force close all the open apps on the iPod / iPad.

  • iOS 6.1.4 and Below - Press and hold your finger on any one of the app icons in the grey bar along the bottom edge of the iPod / iPad screen until the icons begin to wiggle and a circle with an “X” appears in the top left corner of the icon. Tap all of the “X”s until the grey bar contains no app icons. Press the iPod / iPad Home Button one time, the grey bar will disappear.

NOTE: If a red circle appears in the top left corner of the app icons then STOP what you are doing and tap the iPod / iPad Home Button one time. Repeat steps 13 and 14 until the grey bar appears and “X” when pressing and holding your finger on the app icon.

  • iOS 7.0 and Above - Press your finger on any of the app preview windows and swiped up and off the screen. Repeat this until no app preview windows remain. Once the home screen preview is the only window remaining, press the iPod / iPad Home Button one time.

15. Please read this entire step prior to performing the action: Press and hold the iPod / iPad Home Button and Screen Lock Button (rectangular button along the opposite edge of the iPod / iPad as the Home Button). The screen will go black and, after several seconds, a silver Apple icon will appear on the screen. Once this silver Apple icon appears, release both buttons.

16. Once the iPod / iPad has reloaded, launch the POS Lavu App.

17. Create a new Order and take it to Checkout.

18. Once on the Checkout Screen, plug the swiper back into the iPod / iPad. The credit card symbol near the top right corner of the screen should turn Green.

If the POS Lavu App is not communicating with the Credit Card Swiper:

If the credit card symbol near the top right corner of the Checkout screen remains Grey, after all of the above steps have been taken, then one of the following scenarios is likely occurring:

1. The Credit Card Swiper’s connector is damaged. Contact Magtek support to further diagnose the problem.

2. The Credit Card Swiper is damaged in some other way. Contact Magtek support to further diagnose the problem.

3. The iPod’s / iPad’s headphone jack is damaged. Contact Apple support to further diagnose the problem.
