Disabling Automatic Updates in Mac OS

Automatic Updates in Mac OS

Disabling Automatic Updates on the Apple Mac Mini running Lavu Local Server software is highly recommended by Lavu. Updating to a newer operating system before Lavu has released or approved a compatible LLS version can cause major issues with one of the most critical pieces of the business’s operations.

We recommend disabling all updates on the Lavu Local Server until we have instructed customers to update to the next LLS version and operating system.

Please contact Lavu Customer Care with any questions regarding update procedures.

Disabling Automatic Updates in Mac OS

1. Click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of the desktop.

2. Click System Preferences.

3. Click App Store.

4. Uncheck the boxes for “Automatically check for updates” and “Automatically download apps purchased on other Macs”.

If the Mac Mini is running an older version of Mac OS prior to Yosemite, it may be necessary to click on the lock icon at the bottom left corner of the window to allow changes to be made. This will prompt you for your admin password to make changes to settings. Click on this lock after you have finished to prevent further changes.
