86 Countdown in Lavu

A short article showing you how 86 tracking on individual menu items works in Lavu.

For those who do not want to use Lavu's inventory platform, we offer an alternative way to automatically 86 ingredients. This is done by assigning a starting number to each menu item. As the item is ordered, the number will decrease by 1, and once it reaches 0, will automatically be removed from your menu.

To apply these settings, first find the item you want to apply a countdown to in the Menu Items page. Then click the green Details button on the right side.

Scroll down to the bottom of the popup window to find the following settings.

Set Track 86 countdown to Track by Menu Item Level as in the picture above. Then set a number next to 86 count. This number represents the number of servings you have for this particular menu item.

Reload settings on the POS, and you will see that a number appears in a green circle next to your menu item.

This number allows all servers using iPads to know how many servings are left of a particular menu item.

When the number reaches 0, the item will be 86ed, and cannot be ordered until the number of servings is updated in the Control Panel menu.
