A short tutorial that shows you how to change the grid style of your Epson KDS device on MicroTouch displays
Epson KDS offers two different grid styles through MicroTouch displays.
- Fixed Grid
- Flexible Grid
The style of grid you choose can impact how many orders can be displayed on screen at any given time.
Displays using a Fixed Grid to display orders can display a maximum of 24 orders (8 columns x 3 rows). Orders are read from left to right, then top to bottom.
Displays using a Flexible Grid have no maximum number of orders, because it depends on how long each order is. Orders are read top to bottom, and then left to right.
You can change the grid type for your displays at anytime through the KDS Configurator.
To access the KDS Configurator, open a web browser on your computer, and type in the IP address of one of your Epson KDS devices. Click here to learn how to find the IP address if you don't already have it.
Log in using the default username and password.
Username: epson.admin.all@epson.epson
Password: 123456
Once logged in, click on Layout at the top, then select Grids on the left. Click the three dots icon in the top right corner of the grid you wish to change, and click Edit.
Next, locate the Grid Type settings, and choose the grid type you wish to use. You can also change other related settings like the orientation of your display, and how many columns and rows you would like to have. This will change the maximum number of orders that can be displayed on your screen.
Note: 2 Column grids are only used for customer facing displays.
When you are finished making changes, click Save and then Publish in the top right corner.
